Some guy comes up to me as I am moving my ML into a perfectly legal Tuesday from 8-10AM spot just a few hours ago.
"You're gonna get towed there." he tells me.
I look at him and he appears to be your typical brooklyn hipster, wearing a beanie and smoking a cigarette.
"I park here all the time and it's perfectly legal" I tell him.
He goes "I live here, and there are grates there." [side note: THAT ARE PERMANENTLY CLOSED]
(I also live here, dumbass, you saw me walk out of the apartment door.)
I ask, "Do you park in this area?"
He goes "No I don't own a car".
(so how would he know what spots are legal or not?!)
Me: "well there's a whole complex strategy to the New York Parking system."
Him: "I know how the New York Parking system works"
Me: *lock the doors to my car and walk away* "Have a good night"
It really bothers me when other people get in my business with clearly nothing helpful to share. Mind your own business, your life will be much better.
Just after writing this post, I checked @NYCASP, the official alternate side twitter account, and alternate side parking is suspended tomorrow. Therefore, moving my car and talking to the putz above was all for naught. *le sigh*.

What a cornball. I also hate when people who don't drive have a ton of advice on driving.
On a side note FUCK SNOW. I'm really sick of this shit already.

Right? People in NYC especially have this sense that they think they know it all. If you don't drive, don't give me tips on driving. Thankyouverymuch.
I am bothered by it but it's sort of good because it means I don't have to move my car around as much since the cleaning crews don't come around during snow.

I know but it makes commuting into the city a bitch with the train delays. Plus tomorrow's my birthday so I'm a little extra annoyed about the snow.

Oh yeah totally agree with you on train delays. I have to wake up at 7 every morning to take the train from downtown to the upper west side for school and it totally screws up the trains.
Happy Birthday in less than half an hour! How old will you be?

I'm 24! Thanks for the birthday wish I'm going to make a nice Oppo Pic Dump for this great occasion. Trains surprisingly weren't that bad this morning, crowded as hell but not bad.
